Our philosophy

SAB implements projects based on some strong principles.

Mobilizing the population :

SAB encourages the beneficiaries to be the actors of their development ; with its projects SAB wants to give to Afghan people the means to choose their future.

Empowerment of local staff :

SAB staff is made of 150 afghan employees that make one of the pillar of SAB.

The expatriate team is made of only 2 staff for the planification, organisation and fundraising activities.

In April 2007 an afghan NGO was set up by SAB Afghan employees ; SAB now wants to support the development of this NGO, so, in the future, it could take over SAB activities.

Local projects :

SAB first wants to understand the local context before developing a project to best answer to the local needs and national policies.

In the education sector SAB works closely with the Ministry of Education. Regarding agriculture activities, SAB involves local authorities in the training and monitoring of the beneficiaries. And since 2006, SAB is an actor of the National Skills Development Project that aims at providing vocational training, employment and developing a national strategy regarding vocational education training.

Partnership :

SAB wants to work closely and develop partnerships with NGOs working in the same areas of intervention so as to share experience and ideas.

Gender :

All SAB projects take into account women needs and offer training activities to develop women empowerment.

SAB wants to understand the local context, works closely to the Afghan population and in line with national policies and strategies.
